Kapok is the newest discovery of Kytopia (the recordingstudio of Kyteman). With a bold combination of horn, guitar and drums Kapok dares to go off the beaten paths. The trio does rocking jazz improvisations with a centrl role for energy. On October 1 2011, the band played on stage for the first time during the Kytopia evening in Tivoli. Kytopia was so excited that she decided to release the album on her label. [Nbsp] We are speking February
2012. That year these angry young man have been winning the Dutch Jazz Competition, are being rewarded with a showcase during the Dutch Jazz & World Music and they are playing more than 50 concerts this year.
Horn player and composer Morris is a popular musician whose main trademarks are jazz and improvisation. He plays in The Kyteman Orchestra, with Yuri Honing and the New Rotterdam Jazz
Orchestra, but he is also composing for classical orchestras and big bands. Timon Koomen is a versatile guitarist with guts; funk, jazz, rock and noise fuse together in his lyrical guitar sound. Drummer Remco Menting who is also playing at Tentempiés Collective, is really inventive at his small kit, supplemented by various percussion instruments.
