Presentation new CD "Sardegna"

Since the release of their first album "Dreams, Thoughts & Poetry" (The Music of Enrico Pieranunzi) by Challenge Records in 2010, the Jasper Somsen Group developed an even stronger musical interaction. That can be heard on the new CD "Sardegna" - dedicated to the breathtaking beauty of this Italian island in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. The original compositions written by Jasper Somsen, are the logical continuation of the wonderful story of "Dreams, Thoughts &

Poetry" but seen from a whole new perspective: The music on "Sardegna" is a sincere and personal story about how life takes a different turn.

  "Sardegna" is released in late January 2013, by Challenge Records International and will after the official presentation in Wageningen be heard on various stages and Radiostations. The CD will be available worldwide, via the Internet and the local CD stores.

European jazz with an American bite

The Jasper Somsen Group is playing

with a beautiful line-up: Bert Lochs (trumpet and flugelhorn), Florian Zenker (guitar), Tilmar Junius (piano), Jasper Somsen (bass) and Pieter Bast (drums). They play European jazz with an American "bite". The lyrical creative European style meets the grooves of the American continent. The music is alternately strong and turbulent, but also contemplative and serene. It promises to be a pleasant evening with catchy grooves and special musical moments.
