Every last tuesday of the month
For a lively jazz climate in our city, we need not only concerts by the very best jazz musicians, but also opportunities to experiment and learn. Workshop Ernst Glerum
On February 25, 2025 and March 25, 2025, double bassist Ernst Glerum will give a workshop. But with just the double bass we really do him an injustice, because he is a true multi-instrumentalist. Ernst is above all a creator. “I arrange, create sounds. Sometimes I have inspirations, ideas. Playing an instrument is trying to get things out of it in solitude that you didn't know existed.”
It remains a surprise what will be worked on, but it is fun just to gain insights from this masterful musician. Participating in this double workshop costs €20,- for 2 evenings. When registering, we would like to know what instrument you play, what backline you possibly need and how much experience you have. You will be notified in advance if you can prepare something. Jamsession
At 21:00 the workshop will turn into a jam session that is free for the public. The jam session will be led by session leader Eric de Zeeuw to ensure a smooth flow and there will be a sound engineer to make it sound nice. The music will range from jazz standards to excursions into funk and soul or wherever the vibe of the evening takes us. Musicians can participate for free, but registration is appreciated. Then we can take your arrival into account. When you register you will hear which pieces of music we will use as a basis for this jam session. Backline
There is a sound system, microphones and some DIs. A simple drum kit can be arranged, but you can also bring your own drum kit. If you have any questions about sound, backline or instruments you can email.
