Henk Kraaijeveld
Henk Kraaijeveld is one of the leading voices in the new generation of jazz singers in the Netherlands. He graduated cum laude from the Utrecht Conservatory in 2012 and continued his education at the Manhattan School of Music in New York.
The adventurous singer combines poetic lyrics and improvisation. With his warm voice and playful performance, he connects with the audience, emphasizing the connecting power of music. His influences range from Bobby McFerrin to Pat Metheny and Sting. With his quintet, he released two critically acclaimed albums: Passengers (2018) and Patches of Sky (2023), and toured internationally in South Korea and Canada, among other places. In 2013, he won both the jury and audience awards at the Dutch Jazz Vocalists Competition. He currently teaches at the Amsterdam Conservatory and is working on his third album.
Daan Kleijn
Gifted guitarist Daan Kleijn is known for his subtle virtuosity and adventurous improvisations. With a musical background spanning from New York jazz clubs to European stages, he has developed a guitar voice all his own. In the ‘Big Apple’, he has performed on renowned stages such as Birdland, Blue Note, and Smalls, and played in bands with Aaron Parks and Billy Drummond, among others. Kleijn’s debut album was described as ‘brilliant’ by De Telegraaf. Additionally, he teaches at the Conservatories in Utrecht and Tilburg.

Jazz in Wageningen arranged the musicians and Hotel de Wereld the atmospheric venue, and is also offering a delicious 3-course surprise menu. In this way, we are working together on a high-quality gastronomic and cultural Wageningen summer!

Would you like to come watch or listen to this special concert, perhaps while enjoying a drink? You don't need to buy a ticket! Just come to the 5 Mei Plein and sink into one of the lovely lounge sofas on the beautiful terrace, for example!

Tickets
The performance by Henk Kraaijeveld and Daan Kleijn on Friday, July 31 is free to attend. Would you like to make the evening extra special with a 3-course dinner? Then reservations are required; you can make them here at Hotel de Wereld!
Location
The performance takes place on the atmospheric terrace of Hotel de Wereld, 5 Mei Plein 1 in Wageningen. Should it unexpectedly rain, we will move indoors to the Capitulation Hall.
