Concerts

 

First and foremost, we organize concerts. Live music by established international top musicians and by upcoming talent from home and abroad. Concerts that would otherwise not be heard in this region or even in the Netherlands. We mainly focus on contemporary jazz that can have different colors. From quiet notes that go straight through the spinal cord to sparkling bebop, grooving soul and funk or fusion - but always with an improvised character. We organize the concerts in Junushoff and in Impulse (on the Campus).

 

Workshops

 

We organize workshops on the last Tuesday of the month from 19:00-21:00h where a well-known musician or teacher guides a maximum of 15 musicians. Each teacher provides 2 evenings so that they can continue working at home in between and really learn new things. Musicians who want to participate can register via the website and pay € 20,- for 2 evenings. The workshops take place in the theatre café of Junushoff.

 

Jam sessions

 

On the Tuesdays of the workshops, the evening turns into a jam session after 9:00 PM. Listeners are also very welcome. Musicians preferably register via the website so that they can be scheduled and they will be sent a number of pieces that will be played. There is a session leader who ensures that the jam sessions are worthwhile for both musicians and listeners. There is a sound technician who ensures that the sound remains balanced and that the music is not played unnecessarily loudly. There is a sound system and a backline available and when registering, musicians can coordinate what they bring and what they need. The sessions are free for musicians and spectators, but a voluntary contribution can be deposited in a pot. The jam sessions take place in the theatre café of Junushoff.

 

Jazz film festival

 

Since 2021 we organize the Dutch Jazz Film Festival. In collaboration with the Heerenstraattheater in Wageningen and with various other stages and film houses in the Netherlands, we show beautiful cinematographic productions in which jazz plays an important role. Collaboration

 

We like to collaborate with well-known jazz venues in the Netherlands, such as the BIMhuis, LantarenVenster and TivoliVredenburg. For example, when it comes to booking international artists. We are also an active member of the VNJJ (Association of Dutch Jazz Venues and Jazz Festivals) and, together with other jazz venues and festivals, we try to strengthen the jazz climate in the Netherlands.
